Legislative Alert

Dear Members,

SB 821, An Act Concerning Marital and Family Therapists HAS DIED IN THE INSURANCE AND REAL ESTATE COMMITTEE!!

It was never put on an agenda, and therefore, never voted on.

MANY thanks to all who worked so hard to defeat this bill, including those who provided written testimony and/or spoke at the public hearing, phoned committee member constituents (twice!), and the hundreds who emailed, phoned and wrote letters to the members of the Insurance are Real Estate Committee.

Our efforts were well worth it!

While this matter is surely defeated for today, and we can all breathe a collective sigh of relief, the issue of mandates is not over. There is a bill being considered that will call for the establishment of a commission to do a yearly analysis of ALL of our state’s health mandates. With the help of our lobbyist, we will be keeping an eye on this, and will keep you posted as any news relevant to our interests arise.

Congratulations to all and as always, thank you for your support!
